Lyrics

Bless This Home
by Bryan Fox
Took his life that year
a string of stormy weather
left his land in ruin
his heart gave with the tears
my dad was young
but out of need he hoped for better
planted corn that May
prayed someday there'd be ears
on the radio the weatherman said
there might be
rain for days
so around an empty table
his family all held hands and prayed
Bless this home
Lord our Father
we come to you asking for your grace
we can stand
this Hell tomorrow
seems like all we need is sunshine for a day
I was born in June
in a year of perfect weather
cotton grew towards the sun
And the years would pass
some were worse some were better
I guess that could be
the story of anyone
everytime the weatherman'd say
there might be rain for days
my daddy would just smile at me
and say this land comes with your name
Bless this home
Lord our Father
I come to you asking for your grace
we can stand
this Hell tomorrow
seems like all we need is sunshine for a day on the radio the weatherman'd said
there might be
rain for days
